Take your endurance to the limit with
Wild Mountain Endurance Training.

Our Philosophy
At Wild Mountain Endurance Training, our coaching philosophy is centered around personalized training plans tailored to your racing goals. We believe in pushing boundaries, building speed, establishing foundational strength, and fostering a mindset of resilience. With a focus on high-level performance, we are dedicated to helping you achieve peak endurance strength and fitness so you can take your endurance sports goals to the next level. Whether it's getting to the pointy end of the spear in triathlon, completing an ultra, or winning your age group at the local marathon, we want to get you there.
Five Tenets of Wild Mountain
1. DO THIS FOR YOU. All too often we find excuses to prevent us from reaching our full capacity as athletes. But the truth of the matter is, you have to do this for you, for your own physical and mental well-being. It's not for "likes". It's not to make a cool video for your feed. And it's not a social club. It's for YOU and your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

2. SET BIG GOALS AND MAINTAIN HIGH STANDARDS. Go after what you truly want. Start the journey to where you want to be and what you want to call yourself. This is the only to way to become self-actualized as an athlete.

3. DON'T LET THE DATA TELL YOU HOW TO FEEL. We have access to mountains of our own, personalized fitness data, all the time. Our watches and AI generated workouts are wonderful tools that we absolutely should use and analyze as we formulate our goals and training maps. But they are just tools. As athletes we cannot lose sight of the fact that we still have to put the hard work work in. Don't let your watch or an impersonally generated workout plan hold you back.

4. BE WILD. Sometimes training has to go a little bit off the rails. An untimed trail run might be exactly what a triathlete needs. Or a good strength and mobility circuit might be exactly what a runner needs. We need that suffering, that wake-up call, even a little fun in our regimens, to remind us why we do what we do.

5. CONQUER YOUR MOUNTAIN. It's your mountain, whatever it is, however you name it. It needs to be crushed, to be conquered, because it's there and it's in your way.

Meet Your Primary Trainer
Matt Mobley (Major, US Army, retired)

As a former U.S. Army Infantry Officer with over 23 years experience teaching, coaching, mentoring, and leading combat-ready Infantrymen and Paratroopers—both as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer and Field Grade Officer— I now teach, coach, and mentor endurance athletes to reach their full potential and to be "combat-ready" for every race. From Infantry Squad leader to Drill Sergeant, and from Platoon Leader to Company Commander, with a host of assignments in-between and beyond, I can now leverage that leadership experience, alongside data-driven analytics and workouts, to work with athletes looking to take their racing to the highest levels of competitive excellence.
During my military career, beyond the inherent physical challenges and grueling schedule faced as an Infantryman and Paratrooper, I continued to participate in endurance sports of all kinds. From competitive triathlete and member of Army Installation competitive run teams, to 24 hour cross country ski ultras and ultra-mountain trail runs, I loved, and continue to love, the process of pushing my body to its endurance limits and reaping the benefits of those efforts—physically, mentally, and spiritually.
My coaching is tough but holistic, taking a full mind-body-spirit approach to training in order to ensure the effort is about you: your drive, your motivation, and getting the most out of your intrinsic abilities. Wild Mountain exists for you, the endurance athlete, whatever your mountain is.
